Requirements:

• BS/BA degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Food Science
Minimum of 4 years experience in the food industry.
Minimum of 2 years auditing experience conducting 2nd or 3rd party audits
Experience with creating, maintaining and auditing HACCP programs
Extremely familiar with food plant GMPs
Familiar with GAPs
ASQ certified and experience with SQF 2000
Familiar with many aspects of food manufacturing and processes and able to audit them including bakery, packaging and raw vegetable processing.
Willingness to travel

Duties:

Responsible for maintaining supplier quality by auditing facilities as well as reviewing 3rd party audits. Maintain Approved Supplier List. Maintaining Co-packer quality by doing audits of their facilities. Assisting with internal 3rd party audits at all plants. Oversee new product launches.

• Develops and maintains a supplier quality audit program. Conducts audits of critical suppliers to ensure quality of incoming raw materials.
Audits co-packers to ensure their compliance to current requirements. Approve potential new suppliers and maintain the approved supplier list.
Follow up with suppliers/co-packers regarding corrective actions.
Establish acceptance criteria and testing procedures for co-packed items.
Assist plant personnel during 3rd party audits.
Assist plant personnel and R&D during new product launches and first runs.
Assist plant QA personnel with program development and implementation as necessary.

Location: CA

Salary: $75K to $90K + 10% Bonus
