• Must have a BS in biology, microbiology, food science, biochemistry or other technical field of study
Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience with supervision of salaried employees
Knowledge and experience with Food GMP compliance, HACCP, food sanitation, change control management.
Must have lab supervisory experience as well as an understanding for lab equipment and operations
Desire experience with quality auditing, documentation systems, chemical analysis, microbiological testing, food allergen control.
Should have an understanding of advanced problems solving methods

Duties:

Overall management of the Quality Department with close to 30 total employees in the department. Direct responsibility for inspection and quality control/quality assurance activities to meet specifications and quality standards for a variety of in-process and finished products. Responsible for managing costs and human resources to provide timely analyses that meet the needs of production and sales.

• Provide leadership on safety and core values within the function and throughout the site.
Provide site leadership on food safety and customer satisfaction.
Set departmental policy and procedures, establish and maintain the site quality control system and maintain site HACCP plans
Determine types of tests to be performed as well as documentation and reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agency standards.
Interact regularly with engineering, manufacturing and service functions to establish quality standards for raw material, work in process and finished products.
Disposition ingredients, materials and finished product.
Champion Quality, GMP compliance and customer satisfaction.
Ensure the GMP, food safety and sanitation training of all site employees.
Manage the timely investigation of and response to assigned customer inquiries.
Coordinate the quality function's operations and programs with those of the site.
Align site quality function with the global quality control plan.

Location: TN

Salary: $75K to $95K + 12% B
